Power Point Training Program
Acknowledgement, Instructions for Use, and Disclaimer
This series of Power Point training slides has been produced to accompany Chapters 1 – 6 of Guidelines for Snowmobile Trail Groomer Operator Training – A Resource Guide for Trail Grooming Managers and Equipment Operators which was produced by the International Association of Snowmobile Administrators (IASA) in 2005. (This manual is available at www.snowiasa.com or www.snowmobilers.org ) This project has been produced by IASA, with financial assistance from the Recreational Trails Program administered by the U.S. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), to aid local operator training.
Power Point slides for each chapter, as well as a supplemental set of group discussion “Anticipate Your Needs” training slides, are available on this CD in three formats:
1. Original files with high-resolution (large file size) photos {no prefix in front of chapter name}.
2. Projector “optimized” files (1024 x 768 resolution slides); file sizes have been downsized for typical projector screen show use.
3. Web “optimized” files – small file size (lowest quality) for ease of web viewing and e-mail transfer; file size is not suitable for projector screen show use.
The “Note” section that accompanies each slide directs training leaders to the appropriate pages in the manual for the topic of the slide. If the slide presents supplemental information not covered in the manual, this section provides guidance on the subject for the training leader.
Viewers should keep in mind that both the manual and these training slides have been assembled from the International perspective and represent a broad number of scenarios not found in every local situation. However, the slides can be easily customized (downsized) for local use regarding the topics most pertinent to local situations. It is recommended that you always save a copy of the original chapter’s slides – and then delete slides from the copy (not from the original) to produce a customized training program for your local area.
This training program is disseminated under the sponsorship of the Department of Transportation in the interest of information exchange. The United States Government assumes no liability for the contents or use thereof. The contents of this program do not constitute a standard, specification, or regulation.
Special recognition is given to the many agencies, companies, and individuals whose photos have been used for demonstration purposes in this project. Sponsors of this project do not endorse products or manufacturers. Trade and manufacturer’s names appear in this training program only because they are considered essential to the object of these training slides.
